site

what?
Mike and Moo's site. And, as of the 21st of February, Josephine's, too. You're welcome: have a look round, browse. We're hosted by demon, and I (Mike) have had this domain name since 1994/1995, so you can't imagine the number of spams I get.
look?
Welcome to the new look. I'm bored of the old text, and it's time to move on. One of these days I'll change the layout, but at the moment, it's clear and simple, and that's a good thing. Yes, I know it's not interesting.

some background

who?
Mike, Moo and Josephine - or Michael, Catherine and Josephine Bursell, or McLaughlin. Also two cats - Megan, Willum and a Newfoundland dog, Suzy, who's also got her own page, the newf page.
We met in Cambridge (Mike: King's College Cambridge choral scholar; Moo: Jesus College Cambridge), in a New Testament Greek class for the Divinity Faculty (Theology, for the rest of the world). We were going out two and a half weeks later.
We got engaged (one knee, diamond ring, King's bridge) on the 13th of February, 1993 (1993-02-13), exactly four months after our official "going out" date.
We got married in King's College Chapel on the 8th of July, 1995 (1995-07-08) on a very hot, and very happy day.
Josephine was born on Monday, 21st of February, 2005. She will have her own pages soon, but there are already some pictures (there's a list here, too).
what?
Mike: has worked at Cryptomathic since 2004-05-10. Ex-, ex-Convergys (until they made him (and 12% of the UK staff) redundant), before that Citrix (was Digitivity, was APM, also ran ANSA research programme). And before that, Cambridge University Press. He finished an MBA at the Open University in 2002.
Moo: works at the Royal College of Psychiatrists since 2003-04-29, having finished working at Health Quality Service (HQS) on 2003-04-11. She'll be working as part of their FOCUS group, coordinating research and best practice in child and adolescent mental health. At work, she's Catherine McLaughlin.
Josephine: Jo is small, but growing. She likes books (mainly eating them), cats, dogs, standing up, fingers (chewing them), and her mummy and daddy.
why?
what do you mean, why? Oh, what makes our lives worth living? Well - you might find some more information on our pages - particularly Mike's, but the two of us? We thought vaguely about taking up beekeeping, if we can find the time and money. However, we've got Suzy, so that's somewhat on hold. We both like the garden - but Mike just likes looking at it, sitting in it, and barbecuing in it: Moo does the gardening.

he's taken it down again - Nick Cornwell
Simon Daw - clock-winder, bicyclist, cat feeder and general all-round good egg
Jason Edwards - how did he end up doing History of Art, then?
Amy (where's her page gone, then?) and Michael Isard
David Knotts - talent will out
Chuffnuts .org and .com belong to Simon Plant. Poor Denise (-;
htons.co.uk is, I think you'll agree, a beautifully geeky domain name. Fitting that it belongs to Andy P., then
Polly (Mike's sister) and Lee Smallwood run the marvellous DiveMobile
Mark Syms of Citrix - not exactly the most up-to-date site
Kirsty White has moved her website. Naughty Kirsty.

also...

Not much else up, I'm afraid, though you're welcome to have a look at a Mandelbrot generator Mike knocked up for some programming practice. It's in Java, of course.
